Spring is Here! Almost.

Can you believe it! Flowers and trees budding out in the last days of February. It looks like Spring. Spring for me is a sign that Winter is over. New life is springing forth. Spring is also a great picture of the Christian faith. The death of the old self is like Winter and our New Life in Christ is like the growth in Spring.
I read a story that combines the two. " A boy and his father were driving down a country road on a beautiful spring afternoon, when a bumblebee flew in the car window. The little boy, who was allergic to bee stings, was petrified. The father quickly reached out, grabbed the bee, squeezed it in his hand, and then released it. The boy grew frantic as it buzzed by him. Once again the father reached out his hand, but this time he pointed to his palm. There stuck in his skin was the stinger of the bee. "Do you see this?" he asked. "You don't need to be afraid anymore. I've taken the sting for you." We do not need to fear death anymore. Christ has died and risen again. He has taken the sting from death. Amen

To Save A Life is a powerful indie movie about the real-life challenges of teens and their choices.
At some point, every teen has to decide: "What's my life going to be about?" To Save A Life dares to bring that question into their world, encouraging them to answer it with boldness, honesty and Christ-likeness—and to put love into action around them.
"This movie is Life-Changing"
"Realistic"…
Those were the most common responses from over 600,000 teens, youth workers, coaches, pastors, teachers and parents that saw the movie in theaters and at conferences. Over 3,000 youth groups went to see the movie in theaters. You can read stories from teens at ToSaveALifeMovie.com. Thousands of people have opened up about the hurts they had been hiding or how they are inspired to reach out to the lonely and outcast around them.

"To Save A Life is an excellent film with a poignant message that challenges teenagers with the fact that their actions and their inaction shape the lives of their classmates every day, whether they know it or not." —Kirsten Haglund, Miss America 2008

Camille - Posted ”I saw this movie with my youth group, and was litterally bawling by the end. This movie absolutely changed my life. Ya, I thought I was a good Christian before, but after seeing this, I know I can’t settle. There is always something more to do that will help in this world. The part that moved me the most was when Jake is in the youth group, and everyone is whispering and Jake stands to say something. My absolute favorite part of the movie is when he says, “What’s the point of all this if you’re not gonna let it change you?” and to me it is totally true. I also love the part when Jake brakes free from the security guard saying, “I have to make things right!”. These quotes inspire me. Don’t pass up the chance to make a difference. By tomorrow, it may be too late.”
